Finals return but missed opportunities leave bitter taste

Fremantle’s campaign was one of the growth and progress, but they were missed opportunities.

Next year, expectations will rise again and no one in the club will be under more examination than coach Justin Longmuir.

Longmuir, who is responsible for the seventh season, is now in a contract after deciding to break down the standard fixed term agreement.

He was locked for 2026, but beyond that, his future will be a constant point of speech.

So, what should the dock focus on the next step?

Fremantle is a very superior and threatening team on the way to get up.

List development

There will be plenty of natural development in its staff, but growth is not always linear. A young list that wins an important final experience will help this.

Neil Erasmus, Matt Johnson, Karl Worner, Nathan O’driscoll, Jye Amiss and Cooper Simpson’s performances and consistency.

Another elite ball user will give you the chance to challenge more than half behind and kick big points forward.

In the last trade periods, after taking Shai Bolton and Luke Jackson great names, it is unlikely that Fremantle will descend another ‘Great Fish’, but the Demons duo Trent Rivers or Judd Mcvee will fit this summary.

Covering leadership and depth

Nat Fyfe, Michael Walters and James Aish retired.

Together with Jaeger O’MEARA, this triple was the most experienced groups. Alex Pearce, Caleb Serong and Andy Brayshaw will carry more of the load, but they will need leaders to spread and spread the load.
