Lisa Wilkinson teases Today Show return after eight years

Former Today Show host Lisa Wilkinson is making a triumphant return to her old haunt to promote her new book.

Wilkinson left the Today Show in 2017 after 10 years as co-host with Karl Stefanovic, joining Channel 10’s The Project before leaving in 2022.

Nearly eight years after leaving the breakfast show, Wilkinson has announced he will return to the show to promote his new project about an Australian hero in Titanic.

“After more than eight years away from the Today Show, I’ll be back at the table with Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo talking about my new book, Titanic and all things Evelyn Marsden… maybe throw in some throwback memories for good measure,” she wrote on social media.

Karl, who has co-hosted the breakfast show for more than two decades, cheekily reminded his former co-host to “set the alarm” for an early start.

Abo, who is expecting her first child later this year, also joined in on the fun: “I can’t wait! Have you cleared your calendar for August?”

Ms Wilkinson will appear on the morning show to promote her new book, The Titanic Story of Evelyn, which tells the story of a nurse who was one of six Australians on the doomed ship and the only Australian to survive the 1912 sinking.
