Man is arrested after five people stabbed in daylight attack on London street

A man has been arrested after five people were stabbed in a daylight attack on a London street.
Four men, aged 20, 22, 42 and 47, were taken to hospital with stab wounds on Friday afternoon, while a fifth man, aged 26, was also hospitalised.
A fifth man was also arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on Horn Lane in Acton, west London, after reports of a stabbing at 2.47pm on Friday.
It was understood that none of the men suffered life-threatening or life-changing injuries in the attack.
Detective Chief Inspector Jill Horsfall said: ‘We recognize this will be concerning for the local community and we want to reassure them that our detectives are working quickly to establish exactly what happened.
‘Residents can expect an increased police presence in the area in the coming days.
‘If you are concerned please come and speak to our officers.’

A Met Police spokesman told the Daily Mail: ‘At 2.47pm on Friday, May 22, police on patrol on Horn Lane, Acton, were alerted to reports that five men were involved in a fight, during which they were attacked and stabbed.
‘Officers provided emergency first aid to five people.
Four of the men, aged 20, 22, 42 and 47, were hospitalized with stab wounds.
‘Their condition was assessed to be neither life-threatening nor life-changing.
‘Another 26-year-old man was also taken to hospital; where his injuries were assessed to be neither life-threatening nor life-altering.
‘He was arrested on suspicion of GBH and possession of Class A and B drugs with intent to supply but remains in hospital.’

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: ‘We were called to reports of a stabbing on Horn Lane, W3, at 2.46pm on Friday 22 May.
‘We sent a number of resources to the scene including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, paramedics from our tactical response unit, an emergency planning officer and an incident response officer.
‘We treated five people at the scene and took them to hospital as a priority.’
