Man shot dead in park near shopping centre at Beenleigh, Queensland

A man was shot dead overnight in a public park south of Brisbane.

The man was found with a gunshot wound at around 10.40pm on Tuesday in Hugh Muntz Park in Beenleigh, next to the Beenleigh Marketplace shopping centre.

He died at the scene.

A crime scene was established and the park was cordoned off.

Police believe that the attack was targeted and that the parties knew each other.

A spokesperson told NewsWire there is no ongoing threat to the community.
