Man Utd reach agreement with Michael Carrick for vacant manager job

Carrick has improved greatly at Old Trafford after successfully leading the club to Champions League qualification when he replaced the sacked Ruben Amorim in January.

His impressive body of work since being appointed to the interim role has placed the 44-year-old in the lead for becoming the club’s next permanent boss.

United’s executive leadership team, including chief executive Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox, suggested to the club’s owners Ineos that Carrick be given the reins full-time; this too was delegated by the hierarchy.
