Man, woman and child dead after falling from high-rise London tower block

Three people, including a child, died after falling from a multi-storey apartment building in Elephant and Castle, south London.

Emergency services were called to outside the UNCLE building in Churchyard Row at 7.29am on Wednesday following reports of people falling from heights.

Despite rescue efforts, all three were pronounced dead at the scene.

Relatives have been informed and are being supported by specialist staff.

The Met Police said officers from the London Ambulance Service, London Air Ambulance and London Fire Brigade were also involved.

Police said the deaths were treated as unexpected and no other injuries were reported.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of an incident on Churchyard Row, SE11, at 7.31am on Wednesday 27 May.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle, an incident response officer and paramedics from our hazardous area response team (Hart). We also sent the trauma team in a car from the London Air Ambulance.”

“The first paramedic arrived in about four minutes.

“Despite all the efforts of our teams, unfortunately 3 people died at the scene.”
