Martin Brundle cuts short a VERY awkward F1 interview with Hugh Grant – after Sky Sports reporter asked star about TV series ‘I loved’… which he hadn’t even appeared in

Martin Brundle’s legendary Formula 1 grid walk took an awkward turn when he asked actor Hugh Grant about a show he had never attended.
As the famed Sky Sports F1 correspondent made his way through a crowded grid ahead of Sunday’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone, he spotted 65-year-old British actor Grant and immediately jumped in to say something.
During the brief encounter, Brundle asked Grant if fans can expect more seasons of the television show ‘The Gentleman’ to be on the way.
Only Grant never appeared in Netflix’s Guy Ritchie-created action-comedy series, instead appearing in the 2019 film of the same name.
Speaking to Grant, who was attending Silverstone as a guest of Ferrari, Brundle began: ‘Are you going to do another lap of The Gentleman soon because I really like it?’
Hugh Grant was strangely mistaken for starring in a television series he had never seen before.

“Well, I filmed The Gentleman,” Grant said. ‘I haven’t watched the TV series.’
‘Oh right, it’s really good, you really should,’ Brundle replied shyly before the interaction, which made Brundle blush and was cut short.
It was another moment from Brundle’s iconic grid walks that went viral on social media, the second of its kind ahead of Sunday’s race.
While Brundle was looking for celebrities to chat with before the race, which was won by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, he came across singer Lewis Capaldi, whom he thought was his brother, a year ago.
At the 2025 Singapore Grand Prix, Brundle approached Capaldi, or so he thought, but later learned that the person he was talking to was not the artist himself, but the singer’s brother.
Realizing the mistake that day, Brundle continued to drag his feet and even missed Capaldi’s extended handshake, causing the moment to go viral.
With Capaldi on the grid ahead of Sunday’s race, the Scottish singer reached out to Brundle again and this time the F1 reporter didn’t make the same mistake twice.
‘Where is your brother? Is there something in the grid somewhere?’ Brundle said humorously.
‘He’s here somewhere. It’s there, it’s there. He’s obsessed and he loves it,” Capaldi said.
Before moving on to talk to other celebs, Brundle hugged Capaldi and their viral moment in Singapore appeared to be completely forgotten: ‘I’m not good at hugging guys but I thought it was a good moment.’
