Masscon founder Charlie Ayoub’s brother recovered after alleged underworld kidnapping
“I’ve lived this life, I’ve been accused of kidnapping myself – other gangsters – so I know how things work,” he said.
“All I want is some compassion… At this point, right now, it’s all about the Ayoub family.
“This man is not a gangster.”

Distressed family and friends gathered at the Belfield home on Thursday afternoon to console each other and speak to police.
Detectives with clipboards were coming and going from the police-guarded property. Cars of family and friends joined police patrolling the streets around the house.
Payment was requested from the Eyüp family.
Police worked day and night to locate Ayoub by focusing on the white getaway vehicle and tracking its movements.

After days of silence, without any break in the case, Ayoub was released uninjured at Chipping Norton, in the west of the city, at around 2.15am on Monday morning.
A police statement said officers attached to Campsie Police Area Command, along with the State Crime Command’s robbery and serious crime squad, “initiated an investigation into the abduction of a 28-year-old man from Belfield at approximately 5am on Thursday morning.”
“Investigations within Strike Force Mammoth are ongoing and therefore police will not be making any further comment at this time.”
In a social media post on Monday morning, Vaiusu confirmed that Ayoub was released after a $1 million ransom was offered to secure his freedom.
“The look on George’s face when he saw us and the tears on his family’s faces when we brought him home were priceless. [were] priceless,” Vaiusu said.
Vaiusu posted a second video on Monday, showing a convoy of Ford Ranger vehicles driving through dark streets and meeting hooded and unidentified figures for the handover.

The song fades out and a man is heard crying before two men, one of whom is believed to be Ayoub, embrace Vaiusu.
“This is your little brother,” a figure says.
Another figure, believed to be Ayoub, says “Thank you” through tears.
George Ayoub, 28, also has business dealings with his two brothers, Charlie, 37, and Normie, 34. The trio own a rural property in the Southern Highlands.

Police sources said Monday that no arrests had been made, but an investigation was ongoing to determine who kidnapped George Ayoub. They did not confirm whether a ransom was paid for his release.
Kidnappings have become a recent tactic employed by the underworld as various groups vie for control of Sydney’s west and south.
Last month, lawyer Sylvan Singh had his law certificate revoked after he was accused of orchestrating a violent kidnapping.
Singh, who survived a gang attack targeting one of his clients earlier this year, is alleged to have led a group of men who kidnapped and tortured a 31-year-old man in an abandoned house in St Mary’s late last year.
Police allege the kidnappings and torture were recorded on a mobile phone before their release and were used to make ransom demands. Three others were previously charged and remain before the courts.
There is no suggestion that Singh’s case is linked to Ayoub’s abduction.
