Media with its objectivity and fairness should be a partner in nation-building: Vice President Radhakrishnan

Vice President CP Radhakrishnan urged media organizations to be partners in nation building through their constructive role as the fourth pillar of the democratic system. He also emphasized the urgency of controlling the spread of fake news and misinformation in the digital age.
Speaking at the inaugural event of Ramoji Excellence Awards-2025 at Ramoji Film City, the Vice President lauded former media baron Ramoji Rao’s efforts in value-based journalism.
“Truth, objectivity and justice must be the fundamental basis of media organisations,” he said. Praising the late Ramoji Rao for achieving great achievements in journalism and film industry, he lauded the establishment of Ramoji Film City and stated that one can come to Film City with a script and leave with a print. He praised Ramoji Group for organizing the Excellence Awards in his memory.
On the other hand, he lamented the growing drug menace across the country and urged people to fight the menace. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy recalled their relationship with Ramoji Rao and the latter’s commitment to people’s issues.
Describing the late media baron as a maverick in many fields, Mr. Naidu said, “Ramoji Rao championed the problems of the people as a media house owner. He played the role of an Opposition to solve their problems.”
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy termed Ramoji Film City as the fourth wonder of Hyderabad and said that the State government will provide all support to continue the legacy of the “Ramoji” brand in various sectors, especially in journalism and promotion of the state-of-the-art Ramoji Film City, which has emerged as the hub of film production in the world.
Maintaining credibility is the hallmark of Eenadu newsgroup. Ramoji Rao has also made his mark in selling pickles and news content in the competitive market.
Congratulating all the recipients of Ramoji Excellence Awards, the Prime Minister stated that they should all strive to pass on Ramoji’s ideas to future generations. The Ramoji brand must survive forever.
Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and former Chief Justice of India NV Ramana called Ramoji Rao a true inspiration for future generations and recalled his services in the field of journalism.
Mr. Venkaiah Naidu and Mr. NV Ramana emphasized the need to promote Telugu, the mother tongue, in all fields while giving due importance to English and Hindi. The award winners include Pallabi Ghosh in the Women of Achievers category, Sathupati Prasanna Sree in the Arts and Culture category, Akash Tandon in the Service to Humanity category, Jaideep Hardikar in Journalism, Madhavi Latha in Science and Technology, Srikanth Bolla in the Youth Icon category and Amla Ruia in the Rural Development category.
While Union Ministers Kishan Reddy and K Ram Mohan Naidu were present, Ramoji Group CMD Kiron Kumar also welcomed the meeting.
