Jake Paul’s critics ‘where I want them’ ahead of Anthony Joshua fight

What was supposed to be an exhibition match against Gervonta “Tank” Davis, who is nearly 40 pounds lighter than Jake Paul, turned into a professional heavyweight bout with Anthony Joshua.
Paul’s bout against the two-time champion will take place on December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami and will be a sanctioned heavyweight bout. Eight, three-minute rounds are planned with 10-ounce gloves.
Paul was criticized for fighting his opponents for many reasons – Mike Tyson was too old, Andre August and Ryan Bourland were unnamed, and Nate Diaz and Anderson Silva were MMA fighters, not boxers.

Of course, Joshua is no longer in his prime; He last won the title in August 2022 and came up short in his last fight in the IBF title match against Daniel Dubois on September 21, 2024. But he fits the qualifications that Paul’s critics are looking for. Joshua was two inches taller and Paul had only one heavyweight fight in his career; his match against Tyson last year. And it hasn’t been that long since Joshua’s last main event.
“You know, the world is against me, but they don’t realize that I’ve gotten them to where I want them to be,” Paul said in a recent interview with Fox News Digital.
Paul could be the face of boxing. Maybe some will say it’s not for the right reasons, but he expects that to change within a few weeks.

Paul said, “When I knock out Anthony Joshua and win, I will be the face and king of boxing and people will undeniably not be able to say anything. There is silence everywhere.” “They think they’ve cornered me, but I’ve actually cornered the world and that’s exactly where I want them to be.
“I know and believe that God is on my side. He has always guided me in my boxing career and in everything I have done in my life. So I can walk into that ring with the utmost confidence, knowing that the moment is right for me.”
