MoU signed for indigenous chips in CCTV cameras

IIT Madras Research Park-based Mindgrove Technologies has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Prama India Private Limited for the use of indigenously designed chips in CCTV surveillance cameras and advanced video security systems.

According to the company, this is one of the largest commercial integrations of Indian-designed silicon to date. Under the agreement, Prama will integrate Mindgrove’s proprietary Vision SoC (second chip), funded under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s (Meity) Design Linked Incentive scheme, into its video surveillance and security product portfolio. The partnership also includes joint design and development.

“This participation confirms that our Vision SoC is a production-ready platform that can meet performance, reliability and scale requirements in real-world security systems,” said Shashwath TR, Co-Founder and CEO of Mindgrove Technologies. The collaboration comes at a critical juncture for India’s semiconductor ambitions, as the country strengthens efforts to reduce dependence on imported chipsets in sensitive areas such as security and surveillance.

“Beyond technology development, this collaboration will help build strategic capabilities across India’s semiconductor ecosystem, drive innovation, strengthen supply chain resilience and support the Government of India’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat in critical technology sectors,” said Ashish P. Dhakan, Managing Director and CEO, Prama India.
