Firefighters tackle huge blaze at property near synagogue in north London

Dozens of firefighters are battling a massive blaze at a property near a synagogue in north-west London.
Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters were called to tackle the blaze on Cazenove Road in Stamford Hill at 4.14pm on Thursday.
Volunteers from Jewish neighborhood watch organization Shomrim said the fire was “next to a synagogue” and that they were supporting Hackney police officers.

Citizens were asked to stay away from the area as firefighters tried to control the fire.
In the images shared on the internet, smoke is seen rising from a building; Firefighters and members of the Jewish nonprofit emergency medical service Hatzola can also be seen at the scene.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
London Fire Brigade said they received 40 calls to report the incident and mobilized crews from Stoke Newington, Islington, Walthamstow and surrounding fire stations to the scene.
It comes after two Jewish men were stabbed in Golders Green on Wednesday during a suspected terror attack.

Police arrested a 45-year-old man with a stun gun following a double stabbing that sent 34-year-old Shloime Rand and 76-year-old Moshe Ben Baila, locally called Moshe Shine, to hospital.
It was stated that the name of the suspect, who was previously questioned by the police about the terrorist attack, was Essa Süleyman.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer acknowledged in his speech in Downing Street on Thursday that Jews in the UK were “frightened” and had previously been disturbed when visiting the stabbing.
Faced with calls to ban pro-Palestinian marches, Sir Keir supported prosecuting people at such events, chanting “globalise the intifada”.
But the Prime Minister has refused to apologize to UK Jews following a series of attacks on the community.
