Murder investigation launched after man stabbed in north-west London

A murder investigation has been launched after a 40-year-old man was fatally stabbed at a flat in north-west London.

The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to the flat at Tollgate House, Tollgate Gardens, Maida Vale, at around 9.40pm on Friday.

The man was treated at the scene for stab wounds by the London Ambulance Service. He was taken to hospital and died.

Police said no arrests had been made and the man’s relatives had been informed and were being supported by specialist officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Denby, Specialist Crime South, who led the investigation, said: “My thoughts are with the victim’s family at this unimaginably difficult time. Our investigation continues apace as we work to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident.

“Were you in the area or at Tollgate Gardens on Friday, December 19? Do you have cell phone or dashcam footage of anyone in the area at the time of the incident?”

“If so, please come forward and speak to the police. I would also like to thank members of the local community for their patience whilst our investigations continue, some cordons remain in place.”

Officers are asking anyone with information to call 101 quoting CAD 8182/19DEC25.

Police have launched a separate murder investigation after a man was shot dead in London last night.

The 55-year-old victim died at the scene in West End Close, Brent Stonebridge, despite efforts by police and paramedics to save his life.

Officers were called at 9.35pm on Friday night but no arrests had been made as of Saturday afternoon.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, from the Met’s specialist crime team, said: “There is no doubt this incident will cause concern in the local community and wider, but we have increased patrols in the area.

“I would like to reassure the public that our investigation is a priority.”
