Naka Bandi Checks Intensified In Tirumala; 4 Detained, 6 Shops Issued Notices
NELLORE: Tirupati district police organized a naka bandi drive in Tirumala as part of increased security arrangements for devotees.
The checks were carried out as part of the State government’s ‘Operation Vajrapahaar’, under the supervision of Tirumala DSP, SP L. Subbarayudu district and Galigopuram and 7th Mile district on the instructions of TTD CV&SO Muralikrishna.
A total of 58 personnel, divided into two teams, inspected 63 stores and verified licenses and personnel information. Six stores were reported for not having security cameras.
The police detained 4 unidentified people during the operation and seized 2 vehicles.
Authorities have warned against the possession and sale of prohibited substances, including cannabis, alcohol, cigarettes and tobacco products. Shopkeepers have been instructed to follow the rules and avoid contact with unidentified persons.
Awareness was also raised on emergency helplines 112 and 1972, and the police appealed for public cooperation in ensuring a drug-free and safe environment for pilgrims.
