Neeraj Chopra Parts Ways With JSW Sports, Launches Own Athlete Management Firm

New Delhi: Two-time Olympic medalist javelin throw star Neeraj Chopra has ended his decade-long partnership with JSW Sports to launch his own athlete management company, Vel Sports. Chopra has been associated with JSW Sports since 2016.

“Our journey together over the last decade has been one of growth, faith and success. JSW Sports has played a defining role in my career and I will always be grateful for their support and vision,” Chopra, 27, said in a press release.

“As I finish this chapter, I take those same values ​​to the next phase of my journey,” he added.

The statement stated that both parties parted ways “with deep respect and pride.”

“Working with Neeraj has been an incredible experience for all of us at JSW Sports. His success story reflects our shared philosophy of excellence and purpose.

“We are extremely proud of what we have achieved together and wish him continued success in all his future pursuits,” said Divyanshu Singh, CEO of JSW Sports.

Chopra became the first Indian to win the Olympic Gold medal in athletics at the 2021 Tokyo Games.

He followed this with a gold medal at the World Championships in 2023, a silver medal at the Paris Olympics in 2024 and multiple podium finishes on the global tour.
