Nellore SP Transfers Entire Police Station Staff

In a massive disciplinary action, SPSR Nellore district Superintendent of Police Ajitha Vejendla transferred the entire staff of Buchireddypalem Police Station citing negligence in investigating a murder case.
The murder was initially intended to be reflected as a death.
Around 23 police personnel attached to the police station were shifted to other places on Monday. While Circle Inspector Matangi Srinivasa Rao was attached to the IG office, the SI was posted to the SP’s office. The remaining station staff were also transferred as part of a complete overhaul of the station.
The action came in the wake of allegations that the police did not properly investigate the suspicious death of mandal agriculture officer Srihari, who died while driving back from Penchalakona on June 15. Death was initially ruled a heart attack.
Subsequent investigations revealed that Srihari was murdered by his brother-in-law, who allegedly administered a lethal injection (reportedly used to kill dogs) in an attempt to gain control of the family property.
However, despite initial suspicions, allegations emerged that the murder was ignored by the police. Following reports of shortcomings in the investigation, the SP ordered strict action against the police station personnel.
The unprecedented wholesale transfer of officers sent a strong message to the regional police force, alarming officers and underscoring the department’s commitment to accountability and professional investigative standards.
Former minister’s son surrendered in accident
After the failed attempt to cover up the fatal road accident in Palasa-Kasibugga area, YSRC leader and former minister Sidiri Appalaraju’s son Sidiri Aarav Varma surrendered to the police on Monday.
As you may remember, 45-year-old shepherd Dhanayya died after being hit by a bicycle near Kasibugga on the night of July 10. Soon after the fatal road accident, a youth identified as Aarav’s friend Siddhartha surrendered to the police, claiming that he was responsible for the fatal road accident. Police seized the senior bike, detained him and later released him on bail.
However, videos purporting to show Aarav riding the motorcycle and refueling at a nearby fuel depot shortly before the accident surfaced on social media, triggering public outrage.
Examining the CCTV footage, the police determined that Aarav was responsible for the fatal traffic accident and fled the scene by getting into a car after the traffic accident.
When Aarav’s involvement in the case came to light, the police registered a case against him. Police said Aarav surrendered before the police and investigation is ongoing.
MSME Minister Koindapalli Srinivas and Palasa MLA Gouthu Sirisha visited Danayya’s family and handed over a check of Rs 10 lakh in the name of Telugu Desam Party.
He stated that misleading the police did not suit a political leader and condemned the former minister’s effort to save his son.
Hostel social worker who forced students to carry construction materials was suspended
Polavaram district collector K. Dinesh Kumar on Monday suspended Scheduled Castes hostel welfare officer A. Durga Pavan, posted at Gowridevipeta hostel in Yetapaka mandal, after an investigation by the department found that students were forced to carry cement bags and do construction-related work.
The investigation was conducted after reports emerged that hostel students were carrying construction materials.
The district collector warned that strict action would be taken against officials who employ students in any job unrelated to their education. He said it was the responsibility of every official to protect the rights, safety and dignity of students and warned that similar incidents in any school or hostel would lead to strict action by the ministry.
TD leaders clash over offensive positions
A meeting organized by the Telugu Desam party to finalize constituency charges for Punganur and Thamballapalle in Annamayya district ended in violence following differences between party leaders and workers.
This forced leaders to halt the discussions held at a hotel in Tirupati on Tuesday as part of the party’s organizational exercise ahead of the local body elections.
TD leadership is reviewing the district structure and gathering feedback from grassroots leaders before appointing new constituency officers. Around 800 party leaders and workers from two parliamentary constituencies attended the meeting.
District in-charge minister BC Janardhan Reddy, transport minister Ramprasad Reddy, party observer Damacharla Satya and SAAP president Ravi Naidu were present to hear their views.
The main dispute was over the proposed replacement of Challa Ramachandra Reddy, who is in charge of Punganur constituency. Party leaders were considering Madhusudan Naidu or Venkata Ramana Raju for the post. Challa Babu supporters objected to this move, which quickly led to the discussions turning into physical conflict. One party worker was seriously injured.
As the clashes intensified, it was alleged that TD employees attacked media personnel who were filming the incident and five lensmen were injured. Journalists staged a protest in front of the hotel, demanding the arrest of those responsible. Following the violence and mayhem, the party leadership canceled the feedback session regarding Punganur voters.
The meeting also failed to resolve the issue of appointing a new constituency in charge of Thamballapalle, where factional rivalry is evident. Former MLA Shankar Yadav, Kondreddy and Surendra Yadav are among those contesting for the post.
Supporters of senior leader Jayachandra Reddy continued to press his case despite his removal as constituency incharge a few months ago following allegations that he was involved in a liquor scam.
According to party sources, the decision to invite the Shankar Yadav faction to the meeting hall first raised objections from the Jayachandra faction. Although members of both groups later participated in the discussions, the meeting ended without a decision being reached.
AI-based surveillance helps police solve many cases in AP
Andhra Pradesh’s AI-based surveillance ecosystem, with 14,750 CCTV cameras installed across the state, is helping the police solve various cases such as baby abduction, vehicle theft and other crimes.
The AI-based surveillance ecosystem is integrated with the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) through the advanced CCTV360 platform; so this will help surveillance systems not only record images. CCTV360 uses artificial intelligence to analyze vehicle movements, identify travel patterns, generate instant alerts and provide actionable intelligence to law enforcement.
A Honda Activa scooter was stolen from Pattabhipuram police station limits in Guntur. When the case was forwarded to RTGS CCTV360, the AI platform using the vehicle registration number scanned the integrated surveillance network and detected the scooter passing through a major intersection in Guntur. A real-time alert was sent to police within seconds.
The suspect was immediately caught and detained. During interrogation, the suspect admitted that he lifted seven more vehicles.
In another incident, a 6-month-old baby who was kidnapped from the pavement in Chirala was reunited with his mother within 24 hours.
In the third case, a missing woman was tracked down and reunited with her family after investigators received significant technical assistance.
The platform has also emerged as an important asset in finding missing individuals. The success of RTGS CCTV360 demonstrates how AI can significantly strengthen governance when combined with robust public infrastructure and responsive policing. Beyond crime investigation, the platform has the potential to support traffic management, emergency response, disaster management and urban security.
