6,300-hectare Delhi Ridge to become ‘Lungs of Delhi’ under Amit Shah’s green infra roadmap – The Economic Times Video
Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced a major green infrastructure roadmap for Delhi. The Center and the Delhi government will convert 6,300 hectares of the Delhi Ridge into legally protected forest land, plant more than 1.3 crore indigenous plants and create more than 70 ponds and eight private forests. The announcement also includes 300 new electric buses, new bus depots, vehicle testing centers and an expanded sewage treatment network to support Yamuna cleanup. The Center says the projects will transform Delhi into a cleaner, greener and more sustainable capital.
