Police Bust Fake Currency Racket, Attest Three

Police said the accused Ranjith Singh, Brahma Uma Sankar and Dileep had rented a house to print fake currency. The blackmail came to light after they allegedly used fake currency notes at a wine shop in Sangamudi village, which led to a complaint.

Preliminary investigation showed that the gang offered Rs 1 lakh worth of currency notes in fake currency notes for Rs 30,000 and tried to distribute the notes in wine shops and petrol depots. Further investigation is ongoing.
