In a historic turnaround, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) won 108 of Tamil Nadu’s 234 constituencies, pushing state heavyweights DMK and AIADMK to second and third positions respectively. Although it is still just shy of reaching the 118-seat majority mark, TVK It became the largest single party.

In terms of vote rates, TVK received 34.92 percent, DMK+ 31.39 percent and AIADMK+ 27.22 percent.
