Iran calls for regional coordination in calls with Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan

DUBAI, March 19 (Reuters) – Iran’s foreign minister called for vigilance and regional coordination in separate calls with counterparts in Turkey, Egypt and Pakistan, where the military warned of a harsher response to any further attacks on energy infrastructure, state media reported on Thursday.
After the South Pars gas field and energy facilities in Asaluyeh were targeted on Wednesday, Iran retaliated against what it said were US-linked energy facilities in Gulf countries, including the Ras Laffan Industrial City in Qatar, the world’s largest LNG complex.
“In his appeal to foreign counterparts, Araqchi evaluated the attack by the United States and the Zionist regime (Israel) on Iranian infrastructure as an action aimed at increasing tensions and destabilizing the region, and called for vigilance and coordination among the countries of the region in response to these threats,” state media reported on Thursday.
A spokesman for the unified command of Iran’s armed forces said recent attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure had led to a “new phase in the war” in which Iran targeted energy facilities linked to the United States and American investors in the region.
“If attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure occur again, further attacks on your and your allies’ energy infrastructure will not stop until it is completely destroyed, and our response will be much harsher,” Ibrahim Zulfakari said, according to state media. he said.
