Outrage as migrants ‘flee to UK on boat after killing man on beach’ | UK | News
The suspected killers are feared to have fled to England after allegedly stabbing a man to death on a beach in France. It is said that the group of migrants crossed the English Channel after the attack. Politicians said it was “shocking” that the suspects arrived in the UK just hours after the incident.
Police launched an investigation after a body was found on Terminus Beach on Thursday. According to eyewitness accounts, the victim, believed to be a man in his 20s, was allegedly attacked in the dunes. Authorities in France are trying to identify the man, who has no documents.
The reported attack occurred shortly before a boat with approximately 165 people on board departed from the beach. He was then escorted to Dover.
Sun It quotes a French investigative source as saying: “There was a violent argument and fight. A young man was stabbed by at least one attacker.
“Hours later in the afternoon, a knife was found near his body. Meanwhile, those responsible are believed to have boarded a boat and fled to England.”
UK police forces have been alerted and the National Crime Agency is said to be liaising with French police.
A National Crime Agency spokesman said: “We are aware of an incident on Thursday 23 July in which a person died in French waters. French partners are leading the investigation into the situation.”
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage described it as a “deeply disturbing case”, adding that it “explains exactly why I am so concerned and why millions of our citizens are equally concerned”.
