Shooting and stabbing at New York’s Grand Central station leave two people critically injured | New York

At least two people were seriously injured in a shooting and stabbing at New York City’s Grand Central subway station, according to reports.

Local news source based on information from the New York Fire Department WPIX It was reported that two people were taken to a hospital in critical condition after the gun and knife attack at the subway station at the corner of East 42nd Street and Park Avenue in midtown Manhattan at around 9.50 am.

The publication quoted a witness who described at least one person being slashed with a large knife, apparently a machete. The witness also stated that the police officers drew their guns and gave the order to throw knives.

Meanwhile, New York Post A man reportedly stabbed at least two people, possibly with a machete, before police shot him.

The New York Police Department did not immediately release details. The agency asked people to “avoid the area around Grand Central station” in an X post, warning of delays and heavy traffic in the area.

The New York metropolitan transit authority announced that multiple subway trains will bypass the station until further notice, according to WPIX.

No other details were immediately available.
