Pedestrian fighting for life after being hit by car on Jackson Street in Bassendean

A pedestrian is in a critical condition after being struck by a car in north-east Perth on Friday afternoon.

At around 12.35pm, a white and silver Mitsubishi tray-top was driving on Jackson Street in Bassendean when the car collided with a male pedestrian.

While emergency services arrived at the scene, the 35-year-old pedestrian was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries.

The 50-year-old male driver escaped uninjured.
