Photographer’s stunning picture show kingfishers diving into pond

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.
But a new photo of a kingfisher showing Mother Nature in all her glory is so stunning it almost challenges them.
The striking image, produced without Photoshop or AI, shows the bird diving into a pond at night in Kirkcudbright, Dumfries and Galloway.
It moves so fast that it leaves behind bright trails of light in the blue and orange hues of its colorful feathers.
The stunning photographs were taken by experienced wildlife photographer Keith Kirk, 69, from nearby Castle Douglas.
He used a slow shutter speed to capture the kingfisher’s famously rapid, minute movements that are almost invisible to the naked eye and create beautiful shots.
Footage taken this month shows the familiar riverside creature bursting into colorful streaks as it leaps from a perch and dives into the water.
