PM in Indonesia LIVE: Modi conferred with Indonesia’s highest honour ’Bintang Adipurna of the Republic of Indonesia’ medal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Indonesia on Monday for the first leg of his tri-nation tour aimed at further strengthening India’s Act East Policy, MAHASAGAR Vision and commitment to a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific.

Mr Modi was welcomed at the airport with a special gesture by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. Four ministers were also present to receive the Prime Minister, who was welcomed with traditional ceremony and a guard of honour.

“I landed in Jakarta. I was touched by President Prabowo Subianto’s gesture to welcome me at the airport,” Mr. Modi said in a social media post.

This is Prime Minister Modi’s first bilateral visit to Indonesia since upgrading ties through the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2018.
