New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron organized a phone call on Saturday, exchanging views on global and regional developments, focusing on the efforts to bring a quick and peaceful solution to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
During the call, both leaders reiterated the commitment to promote global peace and stability by emphasizing the importance of coordinated diplomatic efforts. Prime Minister Modi confirmed India’s consistent support for an early restoration of stability in the region and the region.

The two leaders also reviewed the progress in bilateral cooperation in key sectors, including defense, economy, science, technology and field. Horizon 2047 Roadmap, Indo-Pacific Road Map and Defense Industrial Road Map confirmed their commitment to deepening ties under the roadmap.
According to a statement from the Prime Ministry, Modi thanked Macron for accepting the invitation to participate in the AI Impact Summit, which was planned to be held in India in February 2026. Both leaders agreed to continue their close coordination to support global peace efforts.
This recent change is followed by Modi on August 21, and Macron’s previous telephone conversation, which coordinates the positions in Ukraine in pursuit of a fair and lasting peace. Macron also shared his assessment of recent debates between Europe, USA and Ukrainian leaders in Washington and presented his perspective on the situation in Gaza.
The French President said that the Indian-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) supported the early outcome.
