Police Issue Lookout Notice Against Bandi Sai Bageerath

Hyderabad: With the Telangana High Court denying interim protection to Union Minister of State Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s son Bandi Sai Bageerath in the POCSO case registered at Petbasheerabad police station, the state police issued a lookout notice against him. Cyberabad Police has intensified its efforts to find the suspect, who is currently untraceable.

The police had sent a notice to Bhageerath to appear for questioning on the 13th. He informed the police via email that he could not attend on the 13th due to personal reasons and would appear before the investigating officer on the 15th (Friday). So the police waited until Friday evening. Concluding that the suspect ran away because he was not at home and his phone was turned off, the police assigned special teams to search for the suspect. Authorities formed five special teams to search for Bageerath. Searches are ongoing in Hyderabad, Karimnagar and Delhi. Police are also checking his home in Banjara Hills.

On Friday, a vacation bench of the Telangana High Court refused to grant interim protection from arrest to Bandi Sai Bageerath. Judge T. Madhavi Devi reserved the orders for Thursday, May 21, after hearing the anticipatory bail petition filed by Bageerath’s lawyer. The judge refused to grant interim protection, status quo or any other relief to Bageerath despite repeated requests from his lawyer.

Senior advocate S. Niranjan Reddy, appearing for Bageerath, requested the court to issue an order on May 18 or give verbal directions to the police not to take action against his client. However, the court stated that the recess bench could not be sat for the announcement of the orders.
