Police swarm Burswood, arrest men on casino gaming floor after ‘firearm’ report
Two men were arrested at the Crown Casino gaming site following reports a gun was pointed at a motorist after heavily armed police attacked Burswood on Sunday.
Police seized what was believed to be a new lighter and arrested the men after they allegedly pointed a firearm from a white station wagon at another car on Teddington Road at around 10am.
A WA Police spokesman said several units were deployed to the area where a vehicle matching the description of a station sedan was seen entering the casino car park.
It was seen that the men got out of the car and headed towards the casino, and the police used special equipment and long-armed firearms as part of the operation.
They were arrested without incident by officers from the area operations group. During a search of the casino complex, what was suspected to be a new lighter resembling a gun was found in the food court restrooms.
“No firearms were seen on the playing field,” a police spokesman said.
A police spokesman said the men were assisting police with ongoing investigations.
