Prince Harry reconsiders bringing Meghan and children to UK

Prince Harry is said to be reconsidering his decision to bring Meghan and her children to the UK next month after his request for police protection was rejected.
The royal family is understood to be concerned about his family’s safety after learning on Friday that taxpayer-funded security would not be provided.
Queen Elizabeth II They had accepted an invitation to stay at the royal residence on their first visit to England since Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
A source close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has accused the Home Office and the committee responsible for assessing their safety of “deliberately creating conditions that make it almost impossible” for them to travel safely in the UK. Telegram reported.

Harry is said to be trying to find a way to keep the trip going as he is “desperate” for his seven-year-old son Archie and five-year-old daughter Lilibet to see their grandfather, King Charles. It is thought that the final decision regarding the trip and the participation of Prince Harry’s wife and children will be made in the coming days.
The source told the newspaper that Harry was awaiting a review into security requirements by the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec) but learned last week that no review had taken place and all assessments had been “paused”.
“Endless speculation about the security situation and where the family will stay makes the planning and logistics of the private security team increasingly difficult,” they added.
His level of protection was reduced when he stepped back from royal duties in 2020, and since then he has not been provided with any police protection unless he is attending official royal events.
Prince Harry is in an ongoing legal battle with the Home Office over security arrangements for himself and his family while in the UK.

Their visit marked the one-year countdown to Harry’s Invictus Games, which will be held in Birmingham next July, and the Duchess of Sussex was expected to join her husband at various public events.
It will also be the first time the duke sees his father in nine months after having tea at Clarence House in September.
His family was expected to stay both on the royal estate and in private accommodation.
A government spokesman said: “The UK government’s protective security system is stringent and proportionate.
“It is our long-standing policy not to provide detailed information about these arrangements as doing so could compromise their integrity and impact the safety of individuals.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been contacted for comment.
