Prince Harry sued for defamation by Sentebale charity he co-founded in honour of late mother Princess Diana

London: A charity Prince Harry co-founded in honor of his late mother, Princess Diana, from whom he resigned after a high-profile dispute, is suing the British royal for defamation in the High Court in London, according to a court filing released Friday.
King Charles’ younger son Harry founded Sentebale in 2006 to help young people with HIV and AIDS in Lesotho and Botswana but resigned as patron in March last year following a public dispute with chief executive Sophie Chandauka.
Sentebale filed a defamation lawsuit in the High Court last month against Harry and one of his close friends, Mark Dyer, who is also a trustee of the charity, according to a record made public on Friday.
No details were given regarding the content of the case.
Neither Harry’s spokesman nor the charity immediately responded to a request for comment.
The charity’s co-founder, Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, and its trustees joined Harry as he left Sentebale, which means “don’t forget me” in the local language of Lesotho in South Africa, which he helped found nine years after Diana died in a car crash in Paris.
The 41-year-old prince said his relationship with Chandauka was destructive, while Chandauka reported him and his trustees to the UK’s charity regulator, alleging bullying and harassment.
