Princess Kate cancer statement in full | Royal | News

“Every year, hundreds of thousands of people in this country hear the words no one else wants to hear. The road that follows is one that tests every aspect of who we are: physically, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually. The challenges ripple outward, touching families, friendships, work, and the quiet moments alone with our thoughts.”
“Cancer doesn’t just affect the body. It changes the way you think and feel, and it profoundly affects every aspect of life. I know this personally, and the journey toward and beyond treatment requires more than just medication.
“I took part in the National Three Peaks Competition not just as a physical challenge, but as a chance to explore life beyond diagnosis and give something back. “The Royal Marsden is a place that means so much to me and whose care and expertise has changed the lives of so many people.
“With this challenge, I want to raise awareness of the deeper impact of serious illness and the importance of holistic healthcare. Every individual is different and ensuring a whole person approach to care ensures that those living with cancer can manage the highly personal challenges of diagnosis. Holistic therapies complement clinical pathways and support patients’ ability to maintain their well-being, resilience and quality of life during an extraordinarily difficult time.
“We have an opportunity to reshape what the future of holistic cancer care will look like, ensuring more people across the country have access to personalized support that can help make a meaningful difference during and after medical treatment. This challenge will support the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity by helping to transform access to and understanding of holistic care that will improve patient healing and recovery across the UK.
“Healing, whether personal or collective, isn’t just about righting what’s wrong. It’s about finding balance in how we live. Between effort and acceptance, between control and trust, between thinking and simply being. Because after all, courage isn’t just about pushing forward. It’s about knowing how to stay grounded, connected, and present, no matter what terrain or landscape you’re walking on.”
“Together, we can stand up for everyone living with cancer, ensuring no one faces this disease feeling unseen or unsupported.
“Please know that you are not alone.
“C”
