Retired doctor dies of cardiac arrest after being conned of over ₹6 lakh in ‘digital arrest’ scam

A 76 -year -old retired state doctor from Madhura Nagar posed as a ‘digital arrest’ deception, where cyber scammers posed as law enforcement officers and imprisoned for about 70 hours, and the cardiac died after the allegedly defrauded La 6.6 lakh.

Fraud appeared on September 5 when the victim received a call from individuals who claim to be Bengaluru Police Officers. They accused him of participating in serious crimes, including human trafficking, and submitted privileged documents from the Indian Reserve Bank and the Executive Director. Using intimidation and threats, they forced him to transfer money to a fraudulent account.

It was reported that long -term harassment left troubled and collapsed with severe chest pain in Madhura Nagar residence. Despite running to the hospital could not be saved.

“The family suspects that the family died of excessive stress caused by fraud,” he said. After a complaint made by his son, the police recorded a lawsuit and launched an investigation into the incident.
