Israeli settler accused of shooting Palestinian involved in Oscar-winning West Bank film dead

An Israeli settlement hit the Palestinian Ministry of Education and a Palestinian teacher who helped another land of the Oscar-winning documentary, according to an Israeli-American activity on the shooting scene.

Yuval Abraham, a co-director of any other land, said that a settler in the occupied West Bank had shot Odeh Hathaleen in the lungs in the village of Umm Al-Khair in the West Bank.

Residents claim that the shooter is Yinon Levy, approved by England.

Lawyer Avichai Hajbi said that “after being attacked by an Arab mafia by an Arab mafia, an Arab mafia with stones and violence with foreign activists, he represented that his life was in danger, he represented that he had to fire his gun into the air.”

Mattan Berner-Kadish, an Israeli-American activist at the scene, said to the BBC on Monday at 17:20 (15:20 BST), a bulldozer from a nearby Israeli settlement, a private Palestinian territory, a sewage pipe, one olive trees and two fans were crushed.

Berner-Kadish and other activists, including Hathaleen’s cousin Ahmad, ran to prevent bulldozer. The activist said that the driver hit Ahmed around his neck and shoulder with a drill extending from the bulldozer, and his images fell to the ground. Berner-Kadish didn’t believe Levy was driving.

While Ahmed joined the injuries, Berner-Kadish heard a pop. On the way back to the village to get water, he saw Hathaleen’s bleeding from febrile weapons injury and the only settler he saw.

In a video that is believed to be withdrawn by a relative of Hathalaen and published on social media, a man defined as Levy holds a pistol with a bulldozer behind him while men scream at him. Levy pushes it to a man who pushes it back. Levy then lifts the gun and fires in front of it, then fires again.

When the women are heard while screaming, the shooting returns to escape when the shooter cuts the clip.

The images do not indicate what or who hit the shooting, if there is anything, and if someone else has shooting. There is no other visible settlers.

Israeli police, Umm Al-Khair near the Israeli settlement in the Carmel region, he said.

“As a result of the incident, a Palestinian man was said to be dead. The final participation was under investigation.” He said.

Police said they were detained on Tuesday morning to question an Israeli citizen. The Israeli media later reported that Levy was released under house arrest.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) detained five Palestinians on suspicion of participation in the incident with two foreign tourists. Berner-Kadish said they were still detained on Tuesday evening.

The activist, who started to visit the village in 2021, said that Hathaleen was “one of my best friends in the world” and that they were far from building a football field in the village. He added that Hathaleen was a “warm and loving” father of three young children.

The Palestinian Ministry of Education said Hathaleen was a teacher in a local secondary school.

Lateefah Simon, a democrat from US Congress member California, said that he was “broken heart” about the murder of Hathaleen. He and his cousin were detained and deported from San Francisco airport last month while traveling for a multicultural belief dialogue, both holding valid visas “.

Abraham said that Hathalaen did not help another land, Masafer, a West Bank community of 2025 Oscars, Israeli government and the Palestinians, for the best documentary feature following the legal struggle on the yacht.

In 2022, the Supreme Court of Israel decided to allow houses to be destroyed and to deport more than 1,000 peasants to be deported.

Local Israeli Mountain Hebron Regional Council President Eliram Azulai said in response to the incident on Monday, “they demanded the creation of security zones around the communities and today they witnessed the danger of illegal construction in the region today.”

Levy, the leader of a police station farm, was sanctioned by the UK in 2024 with others, because “he used physical aggression, threatened families with guns, and destroyed their properties as part of an aimed and calculated effort to replace Palestinian communities.

He rejected the allegations against the BBC last year.

It was also approved by the US under Biden administration last year, but President Donald Trump lifted these sanctions.

Gilad Kariv, a Knesset member of the Democrats Party, said in response to the video that “armed Jewish militias in regions show uncontrolled”.

The settlements are considered illegal in the scope of international law – supported by the Consultation view of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) last year.
