Sarah Ferguson misses another wedding after vanishing from public eye | Royal | News

Sarah was noticeably absent from her niece Heidi Luedecke’s wedding in early June, despite the reception being held at Dummer Down Farm in Hampshire, where she spent her childhood. A source told the Daily Mail: “If Sarah had come forward she would have been surrounded by love. She could have kept a low profile without too much trouble.”

When Ms Luedecke’s engagement to art consultant Ben Collinson was announced in 2023, Sarah said she was “committed” to the couple, describing her sister Jane’s daughter as “my beloved golden niece”.

Mrs. Luedecke’s wedding took place on Saturday, June 6, the same day that Princess Anne’s son married Harriet Sperling in the Cotswolds.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie chose to attend Mr Phillips’ wedding along with the King and Queen, while Sarah and her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor avoided both celebrations.

Sarah has stayed out of the spotlight since she was featured in a series of files released by the US Department of Justice on pedophile Jeffrey Epstein earlier this year.

Epstein became the downfall of Andrew, who was stripped of his titles by the King for “serious errors of judgment” over his friendship with the late sex offender.

Sarah also lost her courtesy title on the royal divorce and reverted to her maiden name, and lost the freedom of the city of York after councilors voted unanimously to abolish the honour.

The former duchess was tracked to a £2,000-a-night chalet in the Austrian Alps in April and is thought to be staying there; reports suggest he may move abroad permanently.
