Savannah Guthrie Tears Up On Air & Renews Plea For Tips After Report On Mom Nancy’s Possible Death

Savannah Guthrie made a tearful plea on Tuesday’s broadcast of the “TODAY” show after new details were released about the investigation into her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie. On June 23, the morning news program reported that the second note sent to media outlets from the alleged kidnapper said Nancy was dead and did not request any money, according to three people familiar with the matter. NBC News also cited these sources, stating that while there was no apology for the alleged kidnapping of Nancy, it was saddened by her death. Guthrie has been reported missing since February 1. After the report was published, Savannah said she had no comment on the story and was not featured on the “TODAY” story, but she tearfully urged people to come forward if they have any information. “I can’t pretend I’m not here. And since I’ve been here, I’ve wanted to take the opportunity to ask people, to really beg people, to come forward. Someone knows something. And this is a new story that’s on your radar today. But this is a life that my sister lives, that I live, that my brother lives, that our extended families live, that our children live every day. And we’re in misery. We can’t be at peace,” she said. “So, no matter how hard I try, “To come here every day and smile and find that happiness.” for, and I will, I promise, this is the time to say we need your help, and I will not pass up this opportunity.” Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324).
