CRPF Deputy Commandant Vipin Wilson, Shaurya Chakra 2026 recipient, was honored by the Don Bosco College Alumni Association at an event held in Thrissur, Kerala recently.

Shaurya Chakra is India’s third highest peacetime award for bravery.

At the ceremony, Mr. Wilson, a Thrissur native and alumnus of Don Bosco College in Mannuthy, the former principal of the college, Paulson Chalissery, and the current principal, Fr. He was jointly congratulated by. Jimmy Jose and alumni association president Shravan Paul.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Wilson recalled the operation carried out in Borobekra area of ​​Jiribam district of Manipur on November 11, 2024, which earned him this honour.

“We managed to neutralize 10 people by foiling an armed attack by a group of rebels on a CRPF outpost in Borobekra. We ensured the safety of our personnel at the outpost, prevented major civilian casualties and foiled a significant attempt by the insurgents to destabilize the area,” he said.
