X-Men actor Tyler Mane, 59, reveals ‘super rare’ breast cancer diagnosis as he begins chemotherapy treatment

X-Men star Tyler Mane has revealed that he has been diagnosed with a very rare form of breast cancer.

The 59-year-old actor, known for his role as Sabretooth in 2000’s X-Men, told fans in a video shared on Facebook on Tuesday that he would start chemotherapy.

‘I have bad news. “I’m starting chemotherapy today,” the former World Championship Wrestling star said in the clip. ‘One in 750 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and I am one of them.’

‘Since it is talked about so little, it is usually found in later stages and has worse consequences. “I want to change this,” he continued.

‘Come on my ride to kick this thing’s ass,’ he added. ‘Send this to 10 of your friends and make them follow me because people need to hear this.’

At the end of the video, he shared a short clip of himself as he started chemotherapy in the hospital and said, ‘Fuck cancer!’ he said.

In her caption, she wrote: ‘Yes. I have breast cancer. And yes, it is very rare. Only 1% of breast cancers are in men.’

The actor said at first he wanted to keep his diagnosis secret.

‘I’ll be honest, my first reaction was to keep it secret. I mean, it’s a bit embarrassing.”

‘But I later learned that men are more likely to be diagnosed in the later stages because it’s not talked about and researched,’ she added.

He later credited his wife, Renae Geerlings, with telling him to get treatment even if doctors ignored his concerns.

‘Actually all my doctors rejected it and that was only because my wife was pushing me to have the swelling I got early on removed.’

Fans quickly rallied around the actor, who also plays iconic horror villain Michael Myers in Rob Zombie’s Halloween reboot, flooding his page with encouraging comments.
