Six militants arrested in Manipur for extortion

A police statement on Sunday, December 14, 2025, stated that security forces arrested six militants, including two women, belonging to different banned organizations for their alleged involvement in extortion activities in Manipur.
All arrests took place on Saturday, December 14.
Two active women cadres of the United National Liberation Front (Koireng) were nabbed from Moirangkampu Sajeb Makha Leikai area in Imphal East district. They were identified as Takhellambam Sanathoi Chanu (19) and Kongbrailatpam Rameshori Devi (19).
Security forces arrested two active PREPAK (PRO) cadres from Canchipur area in Imphal West district. These people were identified as Kshetrimayum Abinash Singh (21) and Rajkumar Daniel Singh (31). A 9 mm pistol loaded with 12 bullets and two .38 cartridges were seized from their possession.
While an active cadre of UNLF(P) was nabbed at Lamphel Super Market in Imphal West district, a rebel belonging to PREPAK (PRO) was also arrested from his house in Kumbi in Bishnupur district.
