Six shot dead near Chadchan over property dispute

Six people were found dead in Govindpur village near Chadchan of Vijayapura district on Friday.

The names of the deceased were given as Chandu Nirale, Dundappa Nirale, Shivaputra Nirale, Rahul Nirale, Samarth Nirale and Shabbir Nadaf from Govindpur village.

Preliminary investigation revealed that members of the Golagi family shot dead five members of the Nirale family and one of their associates over a long-standing property dispute.

Superintendent of police Laxman Nimbargi said, “We have registered a case of murder. Chadchan Police Station officers have reached the spot and are investigating.”
