Steve Clarke signs new Scotland deal until 2030 World Cup

Head coach Steve Clarke has signed a new Scotland contract that will cover the next two World Cups and the 2028 Euros.
The 62-year-old’s future was in doubt despite leading the country to its first World Cup since 1998, following back-to-back European qualifiers.
But with just over two weeks to go before Scotland kick off their tournament schedule against Haiti in Boston, Clarke has committed to staying on for another four years.
“I am truly honored to lead my team to its first men’s World Cup in 28 years and proud to continue as head coach,” he said.
“I know that Scottish fans appreciate the achievements of this group in qualifying for the back-to-back Euros and I am equally sure that the whole nation is delighted that we have qualified for the 2026 World Cup after such a long time.
“Looking forward is very important, and while my team will do everything they can to make the country proud in America this summer, it also gives us certainty knowing that we can look to build on these foundations for the long term.”
“It is a privilege to continue in this role.”
