Students Stage Dharna on Finding Worms in Food at MGU Hostel Mess

Nalgonda: Students of Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) in Nalgonda on Monday staged a dharna in front of the College of Arts protesting against worms found in food served in the college boys’ hostel. Unhygienic food in the hostel has become a major problem at MGU lately. In February this year, gutka packets were found in rice served to students in the cafeteria. On January 8, red pepper was served instead of curry for breakfast in the dining hall of the university’s Women’s Dormitory. The visuals went viral on social media Addressing the students who staged dharna, MGU ABVP student president Hanuman said that many students fell ill after consuming unhygienic food in various cafeterias of university hostels. University vice rector Prof. He accused Khaja Altaf Hussain of not visiting the mess hall. Hanuman said that when the students met the VC, the VC asked them to eat hostel food only if they wanted to. He claimed that food safety officials did not check the types of food found in university dormitories.
