China is racing ahead of the United States in artificial intelligence (AI) and overcoming regulatory hurdles that O’Leary Ventures Chairman Kevin O’Leary warns leaves America dangerously behind.
“[China is] “We’re kicking ass in advancing artificial intelligence,” the “Shark Tank” investor warned Sunday.
“What they’ve done is they understand that AI equals power. I mean power equals AI and electricity.”

O’Leary told “One Nation” host Brian Kilmeade that its U.S. rival has largely bypassed regulatory hurdles such as years-long permits that have halted domestic production in America.
“They don’t have to deal with permitting,” O’Leary said.
“The religious leader says, let’s build a 1.4 gigabyte facility here and build it in the next 11 months. In North America we have to go through a seven-year permitting process, so we’re lagging behind in computing capacity. This is a huge problem.”

O’Leary, who has long sounded the alarm about China’s push to dominate many sectors, insisted that it was imperative for the United States to reform its regulatory environment and warned that China would use this advantage for both economic and military dominance.
He also dismissed widespread unease with the emerging technology, saying Kilmeade AI is the next innovation.
