T.N.-based businessman booked for harassing fashion designer from Bengaluru

A Chennai-based businessman and owner of EVP Film City has been accused of assaulting and harassing a city-based fashion designer by forcing her into a relationship.

Based on the complaint, Vyalikaval police recently registered an FIR against Santosha Reddy for voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation and sexual harassment.

In her complaint, the victim said she met Reddy after he took up a design project for his daughter for her relatives’ wedding. After several conversations, the defendant allegedly offered to invest in her business, but she refused.

He then started talking to her and asked if she could make an alliance for her daughter. The complainant claimed that he had recently visited her home to seek help to calm her daughter down as she had been in a fight with her daughter who had stopped talking to her.

The victim claimed he then proposed to her.

When she refused, he allegedly assaulted her and threatened her and her family members with dire consequences.

The police launched an investigation.
