Iran Consulate In Hyderabad Assures Safety Of Indians, Says Situation Under Control Amid Protests | India News

According to the official statement, Iran’s Consulate General in Hyderabad stated that the situation in Iran is stable and completely under control, and claimed that there is no threat to Indian citizens residing in or visiting the country.

In a statement, the Consulate General said that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the safety and welfare of all foreign nationals, including Indian citizens.

Referring to Article 27 of the Iranian Constitution, the statement stated that citizens have the right to freely assemble and protest, and that the protests arising from ongoing economic concerns in Iran constitute a legitimate right, as expressed by the Religious Leader and other state officials on January 3, 2026. Saying that the protests were actually a peaceful process, similar to those in other democratic countries, the organization claimed that some foreign parties were trying to politicize the protests and turn them into violence by “shedding crocodile tears for the Iranian nation” and using statements claiming to sympathize with the Iranian people.

In this context, the Consulate General said that its affiliated media organizations launched a propaganda campaign by spreading false information, including claims that the Revolutionary Leader left Iran, in order to influence public opinion. It was stated that similar false news was published in some media organizations during the war that lasted for 12 days.

The statement also strongly rejected recent media allegations that Iran’s Supreme Leader is preparing to leave the country, stating that they are completely false, unfounded, fabricated and have no basis in fact. It was stated that such narratives are a continuation of propaganda directed by some American and Israeli regime media organizations.

The Consulate General said that the dissemination of unverified, false and disrespectful content violates the ethics of journalism and professionalism. While appreciating the professional and responsible Indian media, he urged media houses, editors and journalists to verify information through reliable and official sources before publishing or airing sensitive news on Iran.

The statement said the mission is available for clarification and factual information and reiterated its commitment to transparency and constructive interaction with Indian media.
