Royal insider’s blistering 3-word rant about Prince Andrew says it all | Royal | News

Prince Andrew’s attitude towards Palace staff has been brutally described by a former aide in a royal book by author Andrew Lownie. The former royal aide, who worked as an equestrian for the Queen Mother, claimed Andrew’s approach to staff was different from his own boss and Andrew’s older brother, the current King.

In a three-word rant, the former horseman claimed Andrew was a “rude, ignorant bastard” and regularly spoke to the Queen Mother’s staff in an unpleasant manner.

Moreover, in Lownie’s book ‘Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York’, an insider recalls a time when someone used the wrong title for the Queen Mother and Andrew allegedly called them “fucking imbeciles”.

The unnamed source also claimed: “He was talking to staff, including me, the way an officer talks to his subordinates. He was saying things like ‘I want it done and I want it done now’ or ‘I want it done by now’. He was always saying ‘Do it!’ I remember you saying. That was kind of his motto.”

They added that they did not think Andrew was “a particularly good person.”

The Rise and Fall of the House of York, by historian Andrew Lownie, also deals with the prince’s ill-advised friendship with disgraced US financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Last week, Prince Andrew renounced his titles, including Duke of York, following a “meeting with the King”.

Prince Andrew said in a statement that “the ongoing allegations against me are a distraction from the work of Her Majesty and the Royal Family.”

Prince Andrew will remain a prince, but will cease to be Duke of York, a title he received from his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth, and will also give up his membership in the Order of the Garter, the oldest and most senior order of chivalry in Britain.

Prince Andrew is under increasing pressure over his links to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. “I strongly deny the accusations against me,” he said in the statement.

Sarah Ferguson will no longer be known as the Duchess of York, but her daughters will continue to carry the title of ‘princess’.

The brother of Virginia Giuffre, who claimed that Prince Andrew had sex with her at Ghislaine Maxwell’s house when she was 17, said that it was a “joyful moment” for Epstein survivors after the statement. Ms. Giuffre died by suicide earlier this year.
