Rahul Gandhi trying to create anarchy by demanding reservations in defence forces, alleges Rajnath Singh

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was “trying to create anarchy” in the country by “demanding reservations from the armed forces”.

Singh also attacked Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, for his recent fishing bid during a poll campaign in Bihar, claiming that the Congress leader “had no option but to jump into the lake”.

He also criticized Gandhi for removing the ‘oy kori’ allegation against the Election Commission and alleged that the Congress MP was “targeting constitutional bodies without any basis”.
Addressing a public rally in Bihar’s Jamui district, Singh said, “What happened to Rahul ji? He is raising the issue of reservations in the defense forces. He is just trying to create anarchy in the country by demanding reservations in the defense forces… our forces are above them.”

The BJP leader also claimed that Gandhi should have known that “ruling the country is not a game for children”.

The defense minister praised the armed forces for their success in Operation Sindoor, a retaliatory strike following the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives in April. “Operation Sindoor has been stopped, it has not been stopped. If terrorists try to attack India again, we will retaliate strongly,” Singh said, adding, “India does not provoke anyone, but if anyone provokes us, we will not spare them.”

Addressing the Gayaji rally, the defense minister said, “Rahul Gandhi is targeting constitutional institutions like the Election Commission without any basis. He knows that his party’s defeat is certain.”

His comment came just hours after Gandhi claimed that last year’s Haryana assembly polls were “stolen” and, citing election list data, claimed that “25 lakh entries were fake and the Election Commission colluded with the BJP to ensure the party won”.

Addressing another rally in Banka earlier in the day, Singh said that “there is not a single corruption case against Bihar CM Nitish Kumar”.

“There is a clear wave in favor of the NDA and the ruling alliance will form the next government in the state with a two-third majority,” he said.

Singh accused the RJD of threatening people during its rule in the state.

“We talk about development, but RJD is telling people about ‘katta’ (unlicensed country-made pistol). RJD leaders are shameless, indulging in corruption and now seeking your support during elections,” Singh said at the Jamui rally.

The BJP leader also claimed that the Congress “never asked for better roads in the border areas”.

Singh claimed that NDA has never created discrimination among people on the basis of caste, creed and religion and the alliance can only work for ‘Vikshit’ Bihar.

He further alleged, “RJD leaders were threatening people and had never worked for the development of Bihar.”

“We keep telling people. We stick to our promises. ‘Pran jaye par vachan na jaye’. We will not go back on what we promised,” he said.
