Democratic congressman Brad Sherman denies viewing porn on flight

Democratic Rep. Brad Sherman fired back after photos showing him watching sexually explicit images on a tablet during a flight went viral, sparking swift backlash online.
Footage posted on X Friday showed the 71-year-old California congressman staring open-mouthed at the tablet as he scrolled through photos of women in underwear.
“Why did California Congressman Brad Sherman think it was okay to watch porn on his iPad during a flight today?” One X post said.

The post had reached 12.4 million views as of Saturday evening.
Sherman denied the allegations, and a spokesperson for the congressman told Fox News Digital that the images appeared on X, formerly known as Twitter, due to his algorithm.

“This was nothing more than Twitter surfing, and unfortunately Elon Musk has ruined the Twitter algorithm to give people content they didn’t want or subscribed to,” a spokesperson for Sherman told Fox News Digital in an email.
Sherman similarly told Punchbowl News that the images appeared in the X feed, under the X’s “For You” section, which shows recommended content.
“This was on Twitter. These pictures were posted on the ‘For You’ show,” Sherman told Punchbowl News, adding that he viewed various posts during his cross-country flight.
“If you have to fly across the country, you look at a lot of things on your tablet,” he said.

“If I see a picture of a woman, can I look at her for longer than sunset? Yes.”
When asked if the content was appropriate to watch on the plane, Sherman told Punchbowl News: “Pornography? I don’t think Elon Musk thinks so. Is it appropriate? No.”
The images quickly garnered great reactions on social media.

Reacting to Donald Trump Jr., Sherman posted an edited version of the photo that showed the iPad screen replaced with the words “Release the Epstein files.”
Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., also weighed in, writing: “I don’t want to hear a single voice from Congress or its entourage or the media. [about] How will I ever walk around the airport again?”

Mace recently demanded the resignation of Charleston Airport CEO Elliot Summey and threatened legal action after airport officials accused him of mistreating staff.
X did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
