US, Israel acted ‘outside international law’ in Iran strikes, says France’s Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron said on Tuesday that US and Israeli military operations in Iran were being carried out “outside international law” but that the real blame was placed on the Islamic Republic.

“The United States and Israel have decided to launch military operations that we cannot approve, contrary to international law,” Macron said.

But Macron added, “The Islamic Republic of Iran bears primary responsibility for this situation,” citing their “dangerous” nuclear program, support for regional proxies and order to fire on “its own people” during protests in January.
