A seemingly ordinary conversation between Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and US President Donald Trump, recorded on a live microphone during the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit in Egypt, attracted attention on the internet. In the recording, Prabowo appears unaware that his words are being taken into account when speaking to Trump about security conditions in a particular region, describing the situation as “not safe, security-wise.” He then asked the US president “Can I meet Eric?” he asks.

Trump responded warmly, saying, “I’m going to call Eric. Should I do that? He’s a very good kid. I’m going to call Eric.”

The two continue briefly; Prabowo replies, “We’ll look for a better place,” and Trump repeats his offer: “I’ll have Eric call you.” Prabowo then adds: “Eric or Don Jr.”

Since returning to office, Trump has faced renewed scrutiny over his global business interests and concerns about potential conflicts of interest linked to his company’s expanding real estate ventures abroad.

It remains unclear in the recordings whether the conversation referred to the Trump Organization or any potential business matter involving President Trump or his family.

Both Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. serve as vice presidents of the Trump Organization, which oversees ventures in real estate, hospitality and emerging blockchain projects.

The Trump Organization operates a golf club near Jakarta, while another project, a golf club and resort in Bali, is listed as “coming soon,” according to the company’s website.
