Driver killed after car rolls on Mitchell Freeway
An 18-year-old man has died following a massive crash that lasted hours on the Mitchell Highway on Sunday morning.
WA Police said the man lost control while driving his white Nissan Patrol northbound on the highway and the car approached the Powis Street exit.
While the highway was closed to traffic with the arrival of emergency services, drivers were asked to look for alternative routes.
“The 18-year-old male driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Royal Perth Hospital, where he unfortunately died a short time later,” a WA Police spokesman said.
Major crash officials are investigating the crash and have urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
